Authorities are conducting a WWII bomb disposal operation on Korschenbroicher Strasse in Moenchengladbach as of evening April 18. An approximately 500-meter (1,640-foot) evacuation radius is in effect around the operation site. Operations at the city's main railway station are suspended. Moenchengladbach is located about 21 km (13 miles) west of Dusseldorf.
The evacuation zone will remain in place until authorities give the all-clear. Localized transport disruptions, including at Moenchengladbach Central Train Station, may linger for several hours after the operation ends.
Avoid the affected area. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Be prepared for disruptions if traveling via Moenchengladbach Central Train Station.
