Spanish unions CCOO, UGT, and FINE will lead banking sector workers' protest marches in Barcelona, Seville, and Valencia on Feb. 21 to demand increased salaries and better working conditions. Participants will pass by several bank offices along the routes during the march.

Protest marches will affect the following areas:

  • Barcelona: Demonstrators will gather in Rambla de Catalunya and march to Catalunya Square.

  • Seville: Demonstrators will gather in Avenida de la Constitucion and march to Plaza Nueva.

  • Valencia: Demonstrators will gather on Les Barques Street and march to Pintor Sorolla Street.

Minor protests will likely occur by banking institutions in Barcelona, Sevilla, and Valencia through Feb. 21. Several hundred protesters will likely participate, based on previous events.

Authorities will likely deploy increased security along the march routes. Localized transport and business disruptions are possible. Business disruptions near protest sites could occur. Violence is not anticipated.
