Activitst plan to protest in Matejki Square, Krakow, from 17:00 on Jan. 5. The demonstrators denounce the firing of Telewizja Polska (TVP) leaders on Dec. 19, and the appointment of new leadership. The amount of participants the event may draw remains unclear.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Low-level confrontations between protesters and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.

Following the firing of TVP leadership on Dec. 19, activists began protesting nationwide. Protests have occurred in Bialystok, Kielce, Krakow, Lodz, and Warsaw. The largest gathering reported occurred at the TVP Headquarters (17 Woronicza Street) in Warsaw; law enforcement officers and protesters engaged in low-level confrontations after demonstrators entered the TVP building Dec. 19. Law enforcement officers remain deployed to monitor TVP offices and respond in case of protests as of early January.
