Power has been fully restored in western Visayas region as of the afternoon of Jan. 5. An unplanned power outage affected several provinces, including Aklan, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Negros Oriental Jan. 2. The power agency National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) attributed the outage to multiple power trips across electricity plants on Panay Island.
