France: Taxi drivers protesting nationwide Dec. 11

Unionized taxi drivers are protesting in France through Dec. 11. Unionized drivers have organized "rolling blockades" to denounce the upcoming social security financing bill for 2024. The protests are being carried out in most major cities in France, causing severe traffic disruptions and delays to public transport. The go-slow demonstrations will likely last until the late afternoon; however, lingering traffic disruptions will likely continue through the evening.

Authorities will almost certainly deploy to monitor and facilitate the protests. Significant road transport disruptions are likely in major urban centers until the end of Dec. 11. Business disruptions are also likely. Violence is not anticipated.
