Unionized healthcare workers affiliated with the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (OFNHP) plan to conduct an open-ended strike at medical facilities in southwest Washington State from 06:30 Oct. 23. The purpose of the action is to demand better pay and staffing, among other things. Organizers assert that over 1,300 healthcare workers will participate in the labor action and picket outside the impacted PeaceHealth facilities: PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver and PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview, Wash.

Unless averted, the labor action may severely disrupt healthcare services in Vancouver and Longview, Wash. Participants may stage associated demonstrations during the strike. Protest locations include outside medical facilities and major thoroughfares.
