Spain: Flight delays at Ibiza Airport due to runway incident, Sept. 16

Flight disruptions have been reported at Ibiza Airport (IBZ) on Sept. 16 following an incident on the runway. The tire of a Lufthansa (LH) passenger plane reportedly exploded upon landing. There have been no casualties reported. Eurocontrol has noted that arrivals are not available and that the runway is blocked until at least 20:00. It has also reported high delays. Flight disruptions may persist through Sept. 16 and once the aircraft is cleared from the runway.
