Suspected Israeli airstrikes have reportedly targeted Damascus early Aug. 7. There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage. While the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not publicly acknowledged the attack, alleged Israeli airstrikes have regularly targeted bases of Iran-affiliated groups, such as Hizballah, across Syria.

Context

Tensions between Syria and Israel remain extremely high.
