Storms prompt flight disruptions at Tocumen International and Panama Pacifico airports, Panama, the evening of Aug. 13. Reconfirm flights.

Warning

Event

Officials have suspended flights at Tocumen International (PTY) and Panama Pacifico (BLB) airports in Panama City as of the evening of Aug. 13 due to severe weather conditions. Authorities stated that flights would resume when conditions improve, though they did not provide a time frame for the suspension. Panama's Hydrometeorological Service has issued a weather advisory warning of significant rainfall through at least 05:00 Aug. 14.

Flight delays and cancellations are likely at PTY and BLB through at least early Aug. 14. Lingering disruptions are probably after regular flights resume as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs. Authorities could extend or rescind the measure in short notice.

Advice

Reconfirm flights at PTY and BLB through at least early Aug. 14. Do not check out of your accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
