Nigeria: Doctors suspend nationwide strike Aug. 12 /update 2

Doctors affiliated with the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) have suspended a nationwide strike and will resume work by 08:00 Aug. 12 following progress in talks with lawmakers. The action began July 26 over several grievances, including salary policies and lack of personnel. NARD's president stated that the association will review the progress further in two weeks.

Calls for additional strike are possible.
