Sao Paulo Metro workers affiliated with the Sao Paulo Subway and Subway Workers' Union (Sindicato dos Metroviarios e Metroviarias de Sao Paulo) have canceled the metro strike previously planned for Aug. 15 to oppose plans to privatize the city's metro lines. Workers called off the action following an Aug. 14 vote after the management decided to postpone outsourcing plans.
