South Korea: Unionized Asiana Airlines pilots suspend nationwide strike planned to begin July 24 /update 1

Asiana Airlines pilots call off indefinite strike across South Korea planned from July 24

Informational

Event

As of July 19, unionized Asiana Airlines (OZ) pilots have suspended a nationwide indefinite strike planned to begin July 24, after the pilots' union and Asiana Airlines reached a provisional wage hike agreement on July 19. The pilots began a work-to-rule protest June 7 after failed wage negotiations with OZ officials. The industrial action prompted cancelations of at least one international and eight domestic flights, as well as delays to 35 international and 19 domestic flights.

The union may call for a fresh strike at short notice if its members vote against accepting the provisional agreement in the coming weeks.
