Informational

Event

Internet disruptions are ongoing in several locations across the Solomon Islands as of May 12 following accidental damage to an undersea cable. Service provider Our Telekom announced that interruptions to broadband, mobile, and landline services are affecting Auki, Malaita Province; Noro, Western Province; and Taro, Choiseul Province. Restoration works are ongoing, but repairs are expected to take approximately three to five weeks.

Internet users will probably continue to experience slow internet speeds and connectivity issues until the operators complete the cable repair activities. Communication and business disruptions are possible.
