Emergency crews are responding to an earlier collision between a high-speed train and a group of rail workers on the tracks near Marktweg in Cologne's Fischenich area on May 4. At least two workers were killed, and an unspecified number were injured. The workers were struck by an Intercity train traveling between Cologne and Koblenz; authorities have suspended rail services between Hurth-Kalscheuren Railway Station and Bruhl Railway Station. Marktweg and Zum Konraderhof are closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic while the emergency response continues.
