Heavy rainfall is forecast across parts of southern Bavaria through at least early May 12. As of May 9, the German Weather Service (DWD) has issued orange continuous rainfall warnings (level 2 on a four-tier scale) across the affected area from late May 9 through early May 12. Rainfall totals of 5-7 cm (1-2.8 inches) are expected across the affected area, with isolated higher totals of up to 9 cm (3.5 inches) possible. Downpours may be accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. Officials could update and possibly extend the coverage of weather alerts over the coming hours and days.
