Remaining striking public workers end nationwide protest action in Canada May 4.

Informational

Event

Representatives of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) workers have reached a tentative agreement with Canada's national government officials, ending the nationwide strike for approximately 35,000 CRA workers, early May 4. Another agreement had been reached on May 1 between the government and leaders of the Public Service Administration Union (PSAC), which had ended a strike involving another 120,000 public employees.

The strike had begun on April 19 over a series of demands, including increased wages, benefits, and remote work. Organizers held demonstrations near government sites, including police stations, military bases, and border crossings.

Lingering disruptions are possible, including delays in certain government services, as workers return to their normal schedules.
