The Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) plans to demonstrate outside US diplomatic missions in Athens and Thessaloniki on Feb. 21. The actions coincide with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit and aim to protest the war in Ukraine and support the government of Greece is providing to NATO. In Athens, protesters will gather at Eleftherias Park from 19:00 and proceed to the US Embassy on Vasilissis Sofias Road. KNE activists will protest at the US Consulate on Tsimiski Street in Thessaloniki from 18:30.

Localized transport and business disruptions are likely. Security personnel will likely monitor the demonstrations and may attempt to disperse the gatherings if they become overly disruptive. The protests will likely be peaceful, but isolated scuffles between protesters and police are possible.
