Bangladesh: Political coalition to protest in Dhaka 15:00 Feb. 22

The Ganatantra Mancha, an alliance of seven political parties, will protest outside the Bangladesh National Museum along Dhaka's Shahbagh Road starting at 15:00 Feb. 22. The protest is in response to attacks allegedly perpetrated by the ruling party's student wing, the Bangladesh Chhatra League, against students at several universities.

Authorities will likely monitor the gathering and may forcibly attempt to disperse overly disruptive crowds. Clashes between police and activists, as well as between supporters of rival political groups, cannot be ruled out. Associated localized transport and business disruptions are likely through the evening of Feb. 22.
