Warning

Event

Climate activists associated with the "Letzte Generation" group are protesting at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and Munich Airport (MUC), Dec. 8, to denounce the climate impact of the aviation sector. Activists broke security perimeters around the runways at both airports and attempted to glue themselves to the tarmac.

Authorities deployed additional security personnel to quickly disperse both protests. Disruptions to flight schedules are possible as security services ensure all activists are removed, and the perimeter is secure. Officials will likely maintain heightened security measures at BER and MUC for at least the remainder of Dec. 8.

Advice

Prepare for possible disruptions if flying via BER or MUC, Dec. 8. Reconfirm flights before travel; do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
