Burkina Faso: Power outages planned in several parts of Ouagadougou Nov. 20 due to scheduled maintenance
Utility provider plans to interrupt supply of electricity in parts of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Nov. 20 due to scheduled maintenance.

The National Electricity Company of Burkina Faso (SONABEL) has announced plans to temporarily suspend the supply of electricity in several parts of Ouagadougou Nov. 20. The purpose of the interruptions is to allow for scheduled maintenance on the network. Power outages will occur at the following times and locations:
07:00-12:00: Pissy, Saondogo, Boulmiougou, Zagtouli, Yimdi, Tinsouka, Bonheur-ville, Belle-ville, Tampouy, Kilwin, Nioko2, Roumtenga, Loumbila, Tengandogo, Garghin, Komsilga, Bassem-Yam, Kienfangue, Warmini, Sapone, Karkoudoughin, Kalaghin, Doulougou, Ypelse, Rakaye, Silemba, Sapouy, Gassou, and Bassinko;
08:00-16:00: Bang-poore.
Localized transport and business disruptions are possible in areas experiencing power outages; malfunctioning traffic signals could disrupt traffic flow. Power outages and consequent disruptions could extend beyond the estimated power restoration times.
Advice
Charge mobile and other electrical devices in advance and ensure backup batteries are available where needed. Plan for possible road travel delays due to malfunctioning or nonfunctional traffic lights in affected areas; exercise caution when driving in the impacted areas. Verify that security systems are working during the scheduled power outages. Ensure that generators are functional and refuel equipment where necessary. Identify business-critical functions that require a power supply.
