Activists from the Muslim group, Alumni Brotherhood (PA) 212, plan to demonstrate outside the State Palace in Jakarta Nov. 4. Participants are calling for the government to decrease the prices of fuel and other goods. Organizers have yet to specify a start time for the event. Hundreds to thousands of people could participate in the action. Protesters could march toward the Arjuna Wijaya Horse Statue area.

Authorities will likely deploy police and military personnel to monitor the demonstration. Heightened security measures, including roadblocks and cordons, are possible at the State Palace and surrounding areas Nov. 4. Localized traffic and business disruptions are possible during the action, especially if activists occupy nearby roads. Traffic disruptions are possible along Medan Merdeka Barat and Medan Merdeka Utara roads. Clashes may occur if officials forcibly disperse the demonstrators.
