Train disruptions are affecting routes passing through Gurpa Railway Station in Bihar State as of the morning of Oct. 26. Services were interrupted from around 06:30, after 53 coaches of a goods train derailed due to a brake failure near Gurpa. The incident did not cause any casualties. However, passenger and freight train service disruptions are likely to continue until track repairs end. Officials have not clarified when services will normalize.

Heightened security and localized traffic disruptions are likely to continue near the derailment site until clearance operations end.

The incident site is approximately 105 km (65 miles) southeast of Patna.
