Informational

Event

Authorities have closed Phu Cat Airport (UIH) in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Province, April 11-21, to facilitate military exercises. Reports indicate the activities will involve live firing.

Airlines, including Vietnam Airlines (VN), said they would divert flights that are originally bound for UIH to Tuy Hoa Airport (TBB) in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen Province, April 11-21. Flight delays may occur at TBB due to the increased flight traffic. Ground travel disruptions are possible around UIH due to the movement of participating military vehicles and personnel. Authorities also noted that flight disruptions are possible at UIH April 22-25 after the airport resumes operations as airlines clear backlogs.

UIH is around 113 km (70 miles) west of Pleiku, Gia Lai Province.

Advice

Confirm flight schedules at UIH through April 25. Do not check out of accommodations until verifying onward travel. Plan for possible ground travel disruptions around UIH.
