Activists are calling for a protest march along the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway (NH-48) from Kherki Daula toll plaza to Hero Honda Chowk in Gurugram March 23. Participants intend to demand the Indian Army create a separate regiment for members of the Ahir community. Officials will close the affected section of the roadway to traffic from 07:00-17:00. Authorities will divert incoming traffic in the area. Hundreds of people may participate in the march.

Security personnel will almost certainly monitor the protest and may try to disperse the march if it is especially disruptive. Clashes between protesters and police are possible. Transport disruptions are likely along NH-48. Traffic disruptions may also occur on alternative routes as commuters may use other roadways in the area.
