Burkina Faso: COVID-19-related restrictions remain in place as of March 22 /update 24
Authorities maintain limited COVID-19-related restrictions in Burkina Faso as of March 22.
Event
As of March 22, COVID-19-related measures remain largely unchanged since December 2021.
Domestic Measures
Domestic flights are operating. All persons must wear facemasks in public settings nationwide. No COVID-19-related curfews are in effect; however, security-related curfews and associated states of emergency not connected with disease activity are still in place in some regions.
International Travel Restrictions
All travelers arriving in Burkina Faso must produce a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than five days before arrival. Travelers arriving without a negative result will be subject to a rapid diagnostic test (RDT) and PCR test at the airport. If the RDT results come back positive, the traveler will be placed in a government-allocated hotel at their own expense for 72 hours until the PCR results are available. Individuals departing the country must present a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than three days before departure. Authorities have reopened the country's land borders, including for rail crossings, and essential freight transport continues but may be subject to delays.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
