Israel, UAE: Security-related flight disruptions to affect Israeli carriers' service to Dubai from Feb. 13

Israel airlines to reduce flight service to Dubai, UAE, from Feb. 13 over security issues; reconfirm itinerary.

Informational

Event

El Al Israel Airlines and other Israeli carriers will reportedly reduce service from Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) to Dubai International Airport (DXB) from Feb. 13 due to officials' failure to reach a security arrangement for Israeli airlines operating on the route. If the security issues remain unaddressed, Israeli service on the route will reportedly stop by March 8. Emirati airlines Emirates and Flydubai will reportedly continue to operate between the airports as normal.

Reduced service from TLV to DXB is almost certain from Feb. 13. Consequent increases in flight prices are likely. Israeli airlines may seek to divert UAE-bound flights from Israel to Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) or other airports if the security-related issues remain unresolved.

Advice

Prepare for flight disruptions, including reduced service, from TLV to DXB from Feb. 13. Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to fly on the affected route over the coming days or weeks. Consider booking alternative routes.
