Authorities have arrested a suspect who opened fire on officers near Spring and Arcadia streets near Route 101 in downtown Los Angeles as of early Oct. 7. Police had initially responded to reports of a gunman in the area at around 22:45 the previous night. There have been no immediate reports of injuries. Route 101 off-ramps near the scene reportedly remain closed, as well as southbound Route 101 lanes at Route 110 as investigations continue.

Increased security and lingering traffic disruptions are likely in the area over the coming hours.
