Strike causing Air Caledonie flight disruptions in New Caledonia as of July 13. Confirm flights.

Warning

Event

Workers affiliated with the UT-CFE-CGC union at Air Caledonie (TY) launched a labor action the morning of July 13 due to grievances with management. The strike forced TY to cancel morning flights to Mare, Isle of Pines, Ouvea, and Lifou. However, the airline has announced that it will operate at least one flight from Noumea's Magenta Airport (GEA) to Mare, Isle of Palms, and Ouvea during the afternoon. Negotiations between the airline and workers are ongoing, and it is unclear if the strike will continue beyond July 13. However, additional flight disruptions are possible.

Advice

Contact airlines to confirm flights and make alternative arrangements, if necessary. Do not check out of accommodations until verifying onward travel.
