A protest is ongoing outside the Dhi Qar Governorate headquarters in Nasiriyah as of July 11. The purpose of the action is to demand job opportunities. Demonstrators have reportedly blocked the entrances of the building and appear to be blocking nearby roads with burning tires. Clashes with security forces have been reported; at least seven people have reportedly been wounded.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain a heightened security posture throughout Nasiriyah, including around Dhi Qar Governorate headquarters and other governmental buildings, until the situation stabilizes. Localized transport disruptions are likely in the area through at least late July 11.
