A magnitude-5.4 offshore earthquake occurred in the Indian Ocean off western North Sumatra Province at around 09:41 July 10. The epicenter was about 97 km (60 miles) southeast of Sinabang, Aceh Province. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 24 km (15 miles), and weak-to-light shaking was probably felt throughout southern Aceh and western North Sumatra provinces.
