Search and rescue efforts in response to the partial collapse of the Champlain Towers South, a twelve-story apartment building located at 8777 Collins Avenue in Surfside, Florida, will likely persist through mid-July. The collapse occurred at approximately 01:30 June 25. The cause of the incident remains under investigation. At least 11 people were killed in the collapse, with 150 others remaining missing; authorities believe many of the missing are still under the rubble.

Surrounding streets remain closed due to the rescue and recovery operation. Localized ground transport disruptions are likely for the duration of the effort.

Avoid the immediate incident site. Heed the instructions of emergency personnel. Plan accordingly for road travel delays in the area.
