Saint Lucia: Authorities extend COVID-19-related domestic restrictions through Aug. 31 /update 30

Domestic COVID-19 restrictions in Saint Lucia extended through Aug. 31; international travel restrictions continue.

Warning

Event

Authorities in Saint Lucia have modified and extended the existing COVID-19-related domestic restrictions through at least Aug. 31. Under the directives, a nightly 23:00-04:00 curfew remains in effect. Residents may not leave their homes during curfew hours except to attend to critical matters and engage in essential work duties.

The new restrictions allow up to 150 fully vaccinated persons to gather with permission of the Ministry of Health, and also fully vaccinated individuals to arrive in the country without entering quarantine. Fully vaccinated persons are also now permitted to attend sporting events.

International Travel
International entry restrictions remain in effect. Regardless of country origin and status of vaccination, all travelers aged five and over are required to produce a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than five days before arrival. Travelers aged 18 and over must also complete a Travel Registration seven days or more before travel. Arriving travelers are also subject to medical screening. Passengers in transit with a same-day onward journey do not require travel authorization.

Quarantine measures and other movement restrictions depend on the traveler's country or territory of origin and vaccination status as follows:

  • Vaccinated travelers: All persons who have proof of having received their final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before arrival are exempt from quarantine measures. Unvaccinated minors who are accompanied by their fully vaccinated parents are also exempt.

  • Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Travel Bubble: Provided the traveler has remained in the travel bubble for at least 21 days, no quarantine is required. The traveler may stay in any accommodation except those properties that have been certified for travelers from outside the bubble. The travel bubble includes Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Turks and Caicos.

  • Returning Nationals and Residents: All unvaccinated Saint Lucia nationals and residents returning from outside the travel bubble must complete a 14-day quarantine unless vaccinated against COVID-19 and have negative PCR test results. Quarantine arrangements at a COVID-19-certified accommodation or government-operated quarantine facility must be confirmed before travel. Applications for home quarantine approval are possible.

  • International Travelers: Travelers who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to remain at their COVID-19-certified accommodations for the duration of their stay or for 14 days, whichever is shorter. Visitors may leave the certified property and travel freely after 14 days. The measure applies to all travelers from the US, UK, Canada, and all other areas outside the CARICOM Travel Bubble.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, ease, or otherwise amend restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
