Authorities continue to enforce restrictions in Rakhine State as of June 29 to stem the spread of COVID-19. The government continues to ban locals from traveling outside their towns; exemptions are possible with approval from local authorities. Schools remain shut until further notice. Wearing facemasks when in public is mandatory. Officials are also likely enforcing restrictions in internally displaced people (IDP) camps; rules may include banning nongovernmental organization (NGO) members from meeting IDPs. The government's level of enforcement of the rules is unclear. Local governments in parts of the state, especially those where known COVID-19 cases reside, may implement stricter curbs on top of the statewide controls.

A nationwide 20:00-04:00 curfew remains in effect due to the ongoing unrest after the Feb. 1 military coup. The level of enforcement of the curfew in Rakhine State is unclear.
