Authorities in Western Australia have ordered a 96-hour lockdown in Perth and Peel from 00:01 June 29 in response to recent COVID-19 activity. Residents and persons who work in these locations must stay at home. Exceptions are in place for individuals seeking medical care or working in essential industries. Residents may also go out to engage in exercise in groups of no more than two persons or to purchase essential goods provided they remain within 5 km (3 miles) of their residences. Social visits and gatherings are banned. Facemasks are mandatory in public places.

All businesses, except those providing essential goods or services, will remain closed for the duration of the lockdown. Restaurants may operate on a carryout basis. Nonessential travel from Perth and Peel is banned. Individuals with recent travel history in Perth and Peel are highly likely to face entry restrictions in other parts of Australia.

Officials may extend the duration of the controls, or apply the measures to additional areas, at short notice in the coming days.
