The US National Weather Service (NWS) has issued flash flood emergency warning for southeastern parts of Louisiana until at least 03:00 CDT May 18. The locations include parts of Ascension, Baton Rouge, Iberville, and Livingston parishes. Reports indicate that heavy rain and thunderstorms have inundated several roads. Authorities in Louisiana have also declared a State of Emergency due to the ongoing weather conditions and in anticipation of further heavy rainfall.

Localized transport disruptions are likely. Driving conditions may be difficult on rural routes and regional highways.
