Warning

Event

Authorities in Paraguay have issued orders to extend the current nationwide restrictions, in place to curb the spread of COVID-19, through at least June 7.

Under the nationwide restrictions, a daily 00:00-05:00 curfew will remain in effect. Additionally, social events must be limited to a maximum of 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors; gatherings in private homes are limited to five people. Cultural events and religious ceremonies can allow up to 75 people indoors and 150 people outdoors. Sporting competitions are allowed with up to four people per team.

All persons must wear facemasks in indoor settings, along public roads, and while riding public transport. Businesses must prioritize delivery and pickup services, as well as enforce social distancing and enhanced sanitation procedures; they must also ensure proper ventilation in indoor settings. Government offices are following a staggered schedule and operating with no more than 50 percent staffing.

International Travel
International travelers may enter Paraguay via Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (ASU) and the land borders with Brazil - specifically those in Ciudad del Este, Pedro Juan Caballero, and Salto del Guaira. All other ports of entry remain closed except for repatriation and humanitarian flights, and cargo transportation.

All passengers must complete Paraguay's Traveler Health Declaration Form within 24 hours before entering the country. Additionally, to be permitted entry, travelers aged 10 and over must present a negative result from a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test taken within 72 hours before arrival. However, authorities will permit entry for Paraguayan nationals and legal residents without a test result in exceptional cases if the traveler takes a COVID-19 test within 24 hours after arrival and remains isolated until the results are confirmed. Nationals and travelers from countries without MERCOSUR membership or association must also provide proof of international health insurance; MERCOSUR's member and associate nations are Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, as well as Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname. Travelers entering from Brazil must self-quarantine for seven days upon arrival.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks. Officials could enforce highly targeted and localized measures in some communities.
