Authorities confirmed at least one rocket was fired towards Ain al-Asad Airbase in Al Anbar Governorate May 24. The attack did not result in any casualties; there have been no initial reports of damage. As of yet, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The base is located approximately 180 km (112 miles) northwest of Baghdad.

Increased security is likely in the impact area as authorities investigate and respond to the incident. Additional attacks targeting military installations or other facilities cannot be ruled out.
