The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Tornado Warning for part of Jefferson County, Alabama, during the late afternoon of March 17. The warning covers Northwestern Birmingham, Gardendale, Fultondale, Center Point, Pleasant Grove, Clay, Pinson, Tarrant, Adamsville, Warrior, Kimberly, Graysville, Morris, Sylvan Springs, Brookside, Mulga,Trafford, Maytown, County Line, and Cardiff. A tornado has reportedly touched down near Maytown outside of Birmingham. The warning is active through at least 1730 CDT March 17.

The weather warnings could be extended or expanded at short notice.
