The affected region includes areas from Yamba in the north to Newcastle in the south. The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued a severe weather warning for the affected locations. Officials could update and possibly extend the coverage of the relevant weather alerts over the coming days.
Hazardous Conditions
The system will be capable of producing heavy downpours across the affected area through at least early March 19, potentially trigging flooding in low-lying communities near rivers, streams, and creeks. Urban flooding is also possible in developed areas with easily overwhelmed stormwater drainage systems.
