Authorities in Lagos have announced the closure of sections of the Third Mainland Bridge to vehicular movement 2359 Feb. 26-2359 Feb. 27. Traffic on the bridge will be suspended ahead of the full reopening of the Oworonshoki- and Adeniji-bound lanes to allow workers to complete repairs. Authorities have also advised travelers from Ogudu, Alapere, and Gbagada to use Ikorodu Road, Jibowu, and Yaba,as alternative routes, while Iyana Oworoshoki-bound traffic from Lagos-Island, Iddo, Oyingbo, Adekunle, and Yaba is to use Herbert Macaulay Way, Jibowu, and Ikorodu Road as alternative routes. Road closures will likely exacerbate normal traffic congestion on nearby routes.
