Demonstrations broke out after officials from the Ivorian Electrical Company (CIE) accompanied by police arrived at the location to perform checks for possible electricity theft. Protesters reportedly blocked roads and clashed with security forces, prompting traffic disruptions in the area. Police used teargas in an attempt to disperse crowds. No casualties have been reported.
