Informational

Event

The Greater Cairo Drinking Water Company has announced that a planned water outage will occur in several areas of Cairo from 2200 Jan. 11-0600 Jan. 12 for routine maintenance work. Affected areas include the Air Force Hospital, Al Fardous Street, Al Rahman Al Rahim Mosque, Greek Hospital Street, Industrial Zone, the Italian Hospital, and the Water Club. Other areas in Abbaseya and Gamaleya districts may also experience low water pressure during this period.

Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
