Afghanistan: Explosions in Mazar-e-Sharif during the evening Dec. 7

Event

At least two blasts have reportedly occurred in the Police District (PD) 9 area of Mazar-e-Sharif the evening of Dec. 7. Media sources indicate that the blasts were caused by explosive devices. No casualties have been reported. No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts.

Security personnel will likely maintain heightened security in the area through late Dec. 7. Authorities may close roadways in the area, causing localized transport disruptions.
