On Monday, August 24, state news agency has reported that an explosion on the Arab Gas Pipeline has led to a complete blackout in Syria. According to reports, Syria's electricity minister affirmed that the explosion took place between Ad Dumayr (Douma district) and Adra (Douma district). While the oil minister said the explosion could have been a terrorist attack, this has not been confirmed yet.

Associated transportation, business, and power disruptions are expected in the near term.
