The offices of Mozambique's leading newspaper Canal de Mozambique were set alight in a suspected Molotov cocktail attack on Sunday, August 23. Reportedly, assailants broke into the offices and destroyed computers and files. No one was injured in the incident, and responsibility was not immediately claimed. The motive for the attack has not yet been confirmed. 

A heightened security presence is possible in the vicinity of the newspaper office in the immediate term, along with associated localized disruptions to travel.
