Kenya: Police kill eight burglars in Nairobi’s Industrial Area August 23

Police shot and killed eight burglars during a robbery attempt in Nairobi's Industrial Area on Sunday, August 23. Reportedly, the deceased were discovered as they were attempting to steal machinery from a store in the industrial complex. A lorry was later recovered at the scene containing the stolen machinery. Police have said that two homemade pistols and machetes were recovered from the assailants. Four other assailants managed to escape the scene, and police warned the public that they may be armed and dangerous.

Increased security is likely around the vicinity of the Industrial Area in the immediate term as investigations are conducted. Localized disruptions are to be anticipated.
