A tropical disturbance, named Invest 91, is forecast to bring heavy rain and resultant flooding to the Gulf Coast areas of Texas and Louisiana states from Wednesday, June 5, including the Houston (Texas state) and New Orleans (Louisiana state) metropolitan areas. The US National Weather Service (NWS) issued flash flood watches for the eastern Texas and western Louisiana coastal areas effective from 01:00 (local time) on Wednesday until Thursday morning, June 6. Up to 12.7 cm (5 in) of rain is forecast for the region and associated transportation and power disruptions are likely.
