Four assailants were killed when Saudi security forces repelled an attempted attack on a state security building (Mabahith) in the city of Zulfi (Riyadh province) on Sunday, April 21, according to government authorities. Three security officers were also wounded during the confrontation. State-owned Al Arabiya television reported that the assailants had been carrying various weapons, including machine guns, bombs, and Molotov cocktails. No group has claimed responsibility for the foiled attack. A heightened security presence is to be anticipated in Zulfi and its environs in the coming days.
