The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is planning to hold multiple rallies in Pakistan on Wednesday, May 1. The PPP announced on Sunday, April 28, that it would hold a public meeting near Karachi (Sindh province). Supporters and politicians, including PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, are expected to meet at Dawood Chowrangi. An anti-government rally is also planned Peshawar (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province) the same day. PPP provincial chairman called on labor union members and other civil society groups to gather in the Hashtnagri area of Peshawar on Wednesday. Transportation and business disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the protests along with a heightened security presence.
