International Women’s Day events will be held in major urban areas throughout Ukraine on Friday, March 8. Rallies are scheduled to take place in Kyiv, Lviv, Uzhgorod, Kharkiv, Mariupol, and Kherson. In Kyiv, a march will start at 12:00 (local time) starting at the Monument to Princess Olga. The event in Kharkiv is set to also begin at 12:00 near the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity. International Women’s Day is a public holiday and associated disruptions are possible. While the events are expected to remain peaceful, heightened security measures and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated around the rallies.
